In the summer the Alps offer a totally different holiday destination. With the snow melted and the sun shining, this is one of the most outstanding areas of natural beauty in the world.

The variety of leisure pursuits on offer is extensive, ranging from walking through the Alpine meadows, horse riding, ice skating, to white water rafting, kayaking and canyoning down the Isere.
Summer skiing is also available at Tignes and La Plagne on the glaciers and parapenting through the clear blue skies offers a birds eye view of even the highest peaks.
The ski lifts allow easy access to miles of footpath and mountain bike trails, giving a glorious panorama of this beautiful area of the world.
Should you wish to venture further afield, the village of Bonneval sur Arcs is amongst one of the most beautiful villages in France, nestled as it is on the Col d’Iseran, the highest mountain pass in Europe.
Chamonix-Mont Blanc is an hour away.
The world's highest cable car ride at 3,840m takes you to the top of the Aiguille du Midi from where you can see the further splendour of the Alps. A funicular railway takes you over a glacier, the Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice), another fascinating experience. You can also catch the Helbrunner Gondola which crosses the Mer de Glace into Italy.
Annecy is also well worth a visit with its beautiful lake side vistas and variety of excellent restaurants and cafes.
