Montchavin itself is a charming resort with a variety of shops, bars, restaurants and a night club in a traffic free centre. It is a village with the convenience of being a tourist facility entirely dedicated to winter sports.

It is also now at the centre of one of the world’s largest ski areas, which was created in 2003 by joining the resorts of La Plagne, Peisey-Vallandry and Les Arcs, with the new superfast Vanoise Express, the world’s largest cable car, which joins the 2 resorts in a brief 4 minute journey.

This has created a ski domain with 425 kms of runs of incredible diversity, offering more than enough variety for all abilities of skiers from the complete beginner to the very experienced. A 17km long off piste route will also take you all the way back to Montchavin from the Bellecote glacier.

your resortThere are also 30kms of runs in the Montchavin ski area itself with the treelined runs back down the mountain also dependable due to the extensive snow cannon arrangement.

There are some fantastic mountain restaurants, with incredible views of the Mont Blanc vista where you can sit and soak up the sun.

Should you wish to partake in cross country skiing, 153kms of the most beautiful terrain should keep you busy.

If you are a thrill seeker you can also participate in high-altitude skiing with helicopter drop-off, ski safaris, ski touring, ice cascade climbing, paragliding, ascents of Mont-Blanc. All of which can be booked in the resort.

If you want to take a break from skiing, then snowshoeing is a fantastic way to discover a different aspect of the stunning Alps. You can also try ice skating, the Olympic bobsleigh run in La Plagne, skidoos, husky sled rides and horse drawn sleigh rides in the nearby Parc de la Vanoise.

After a hard days skiing or snowboarding, whichever is your choice, your luxury catered Montchavin ski chalet is situated a mere 20m from the slopes. There is a fantastic 15km run with a vertical descent of 200m back down to the chalet.

You can live the village life and every day have the choice between La Plagne and Les Arcs because you will be a mere chairlift and a 2 min ski run from the Vanoise Express.
